Michael Jackson Celebration Planned

Family aim to celebrate life

With fans still in mourning, the family of Michael Jackson are said to be preparing to organise global celebrations of his life.

Just as Jackson’s fame knew no boundaries, so to does the mourning which has followed his death. Fans across the world have gathered to remember his music, shocked by their heroes tragically early death.

As the year opened, Michael Jackson organised a press conference at London’s O2 Arena. Unveiling an ambitious series of shows, the singer announced his first major tour in over a decade.

Demand for tickets was enormous, with millions attempting to register with the singer’s website. Selling out fifty nights in the arena, the event was to have been the spark to launch a comeback in Jackson’s career.

However those dates will not happen. Jackson was found unconscious in his Los Angeles home on June 25th, and was later declared dead in hospital. With fans around the world left shocked, the singer’s family are said to be planning a series of global celebrations of Michael Jackson’s life.

Reverend Al Sharpton, a family friend, has revealed that the Jacksons are considering a massive series of events as they decided how best to remember the singer. The Reverend told press that he has already met with Jackson’s brothers Jackie and Jermaine, and is preparing to talk with them again.

Sharpton also revealed the family’s frustration that the media are focussing Michael Jackson’s later problems, instead of his incredible achievements in music and culture.

The Jacksons are, of course, one of America’s pre-eminent show business families. Emerging from a small town in the Southern United States, The Jackson 5 went on to dominate pop music.

Michael Jackson then went solo, but his family were still capable of producing several more stars including his little sister Janet. Currently, the Jackson family are reported as having gathered in their Encino compound.

The family are reported as being angry at the role AEG Live played in the final stages of his career. Before his death, Michael Jackson had expressed concern at the possibility of performing 50 concerts, with the opening dates having already been re-arranged.
