Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band have shared new single 'Broken Beauty'.
Out now, it's another potent piece of songwriting, one that lights the path to new album 'Dear Scott'.
Set to be released on June 3rd, 'Broken Beauty' is work of craft and emotion from the Liverpool songwriter.
New song 'Broken Beauty' was penned alongside his daughter Alice, with the gentle offbeat recalling the way Motown would fashion their rhythms.
It's a chiming slice of 60s leaning guitar pop, with its yearning towards optimism finding Michael Head's voice augmented by brass and strings.
Produced by Bill Ryder-Jones, it hinges on that father-daughter relationship. Michael Head explains…
“One evening Alice said: 'I have an idea for a song' and asked if we could work on it together. When she told me the title and the story I loved it straight away. The way she told it was so inspiring. So, we put it together that night and, on the way out she shouted 'I’m thinkin’ big chorus and a trumpet solo!' I think we nailed it. It’s all there.”
Tune in now.
