London born star M.I.A. is set to appear on the forthcoming album from hip hop star Kanye West.
Kanye West is having a party and chances are you’re invited. The hip hop heavyweight is busy putting the finishing touches to his fifth album, and seems to be going through a lengthy spell of collaboration.
Recently the rapper released a free download featuring a guest appearance from Raekwon. Working on his fifth album, the new material will contain a collaboration with Bon Iver star Justin Vernon.
Now it seems that M.I.A. is the latest star to hook up with the rapper. Speaking to fans on her Twitter page the singer confirmed the news by writing cryptically: “In the studio with Kanye, just speakin in Mark Twain quote”.
Mark Twain? Perhaps the two are playing Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer…
Once named ‘Good Ass Job’ Kanye West recently confirmed that the new title for his album ‘Dark Twisted Fantasy’.
Little has been heard of the album, which will also include appearances from Beyonce and – bizarrely – British singer Seal. Forthcoming single ‘Runaway’ is a typically epic return, and features a lengthy video.
Shot in Prague, the 40 minute film focusses on themes of redemption and features Kanye West’s fictional girlfriend bursting into flames. Embodying the phoenix myth, the rapper recently claimed that it echoes his own life.
The video is due to premiere next month, and features some typically grandiose visuals from the rapper. Other tracks slates to appear on the forthcoming album include ‘Power’, ‘See Me Now’, ‘Lost In The World’ and ‘Chain Heavy’.
Kanye West is due to release ‘Dark Twisted Fantasy’ on November 15th.
