
MGMT have teased the cover of their upcoming self-titled album.
MGMT has always sought to do things differently, to approach making music in a more imaginative manner. So when news of their third album broke, it was clear that the band weren't going to go down the route of a traditional release campaign.
Self-titled, the new record drops later this year and this afternoon (June 23rd) the band teased the album artwork. Posting an animated gif online, the clip shuffles between segments of a larger image.
Thankfully, one resourceful fan was able to crack the puzzle - within an hour, no less - and you can see it above. (via The Line Of Best Fit)
It's a curious image. Reflecting the mundanity of white-picket-fence America, there's a surreal edge which is in keeping with their psychedelic spree.
