Brooklyn space cadets MGMT have spoken out regarding online rumours that their next album will be produced by dance team The Chemical Brothers.
On their myspace blog the band denied rumours that they were set to team up with the famous dance duo on a double album. Certain quarters reported the rumour as fact, going as far as to provide quotes from the band.
Whilst undoubtedly a brilliant album on paper, MGMT have denied these rumours. On their Myspace blog the band write “also, contrary to another internet rumor, though they be rad dudes, the Chemical Brothers will not be producing MGMT’s next album.”
Which is a shame. Also in the blog the band apologized for missing a show at the SoCo Music Festival in Albany – it transpires that drummer Will Berman injured his foot.
MGMT are set to commence work on the follow up to this year’s debut album “Oracular Spectacular” at the beginning of 2009.
