MEYY Shares New EP ‘our wedding at the theatre’

"The rise and the fall of a love story..."

MEYY has shared her new EP ‘our wedding at the theatre’ in full.

The songwriter peels back the veneer of her day-to-day life in her work, using music as a form of therapy. “Everything I sang about ultimately happened,” she noted recently, with MEYY applying a diaristic format to her lyrics.

Out now, ‘our wedding at the theatre’ offers a narrative arc, her pop-edged alt-R&B combines to create something impactful. Describing “the rise and the fall of a love story”, she says the EP stretches “the worst and the best parts of myself, this is like my most personal project to date.”

‘love like i do’ is a potent opener, while ‘12345’ marries her voice to Moon Sujin. Closing with ‘forever and ever and ever and ever’ there’s a sense of cathartic release to MEYY.

“It’s about trying to love someone alongside yourself,” she says, “holding onto something so much that you break it.”

Tune in now.
