This year’s Mercury Prize will be a little different, with the full broadcast details being confirmed a few moments ago.
The Mercury Prize 2024 winner will be unveiled during a special live broadcast from Abbey Road Studios in London, and it will take place on September 5th.
The programme will be shown on BBC Four, kicking off at 9.15pm. Presented by Tom Ravenscroft and Deb Grant, the genial Matt Everitt will interview the artists behind each of the 12 Albums of The Year.
The show will include the announcement of the overall winner of the 2024 Mercury Prize, which will then be played out in full on air.
But wait! That’s not all. BBC Sounds will host a Mercury Prize 2024 collection, with Matt Everitt’s Pocket Guides (3 x 60 mins) offering an intro to all 12 albums, alongside two playlists – one celebrating this year’s Albums of The Year and another celebrating previous Mercury Prize winners.
