merci, mercy releases a new song with yet another whimsically animated video.
Australian based rising star merci, mercy shares with the world 'Winnie Crush' an effortlessly melodic track with a deep message behind the rhythm.
About a toxic relationship someone has with themself, mercy said in a statement: “I can barely afford what is good for my body let alone what’s bad for it. I’ve tricked myself to believe this is what is good for me, that it’s something that makes me happy. But I can’t afford to do this to myself anymore, I can’t afford a love that doesn’t exist.”
The newcomer has unveiled some incredible material and this tune falls perfectly into line as well. The killer hook bassline creates a contagious groove, mercy has mastered the methods of indie pop with a sing along chorus where her soft voice bends. She sings with honesty: “Dosing up and fucking too much, I'm not a TV no I can't be turned off, I'm stuck on a setting of love, I can't afford.”
The idiosyncratic video is an admirable creative experience where mercy’s vices come to life in a fantasy world. This follows up the other collection of exciting visual’s mercy has shown, building her own universe with a gripping narrative.
Tune in now.
