Members of Slowdive and Mogwai have formed a new project.
Minor Victories was announced by Slowdive's Rachel Goswell and will feature Mogwai guitarist Stuart Braithwaite, Editors' Justin Lockey and James Lockey of Hand Held Cine Club.
Currently working on a full album, one set is set to include vocals from Mark Kozelek duetting alongside Goswell. Justin Lockey explains:
So there's a record (like a real long player from back in the day) being made, a band being formed, noise being traded, analogies thrown around between Rachel Goswell (Slowdive) Justin Lockey (Editors) Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai) James Lockey (handheldcineclub). There's some other people involved too but more on that later… For the time being, it's sounding fucking class.

Mogwai are, of course, celebrating their 20th anniversary – new compilation 'Central Belters' will be released later this year.
