Chicago-based artist McKinley Dixon has announced plans for new album ‘Beloved! Paradise! Jazz?!’.
The record borrows its title from a phrase used by the novelist Toni Morrison, and it points to the literary flair that underpins his work. Jazz meets hip-hop in a highly original lane, his work to date illuminates a talent that defies convention.
Out on June 2nd, new 10 tracker ‘Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?’ is a fantastic, widescreen statement. Released on City Slang, the album is trailed by bold, punchy single ‘Run, Run, Run’ which reveals itself as a work of fixed intensity.
McKinley’s voice is completely assured, as he speaks: “With eyes watching God, my heart stays on… you.”
The video features a mysterious janitor and some superb choreography – expect the unexpected.
Tune in now.
