Mazzy Star are set to release their long awaited new album 'Seasons Of Your Day' on September 24th.
Mazzy Star were always a curious beast. Not quite slow core, not quite shoegaze the band still felt like fellow travellers of both, albeit with a codeine-country edge.
Reforming back in 2010, Mazzy Star released a one off single the next year before beginning work on a new album. Now it seems that the results are almost here, with 'Seasons Of Your Day' due to be released on September 24th.
Co-written by Hope Sandoval and David Roback, sessions were split between California and Norway. Guests include My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm O’Ciosoig, while a guitar part written by Bert Jansch shortly before his death receives an emotional placement.
New track 'California' has emerged online – utterly beautiful, you can listen to it below.
