Newcastle punk funk group Maximo Park have won plenty of fans with their intelligent brand of indie pop, and guitarist Duncan Lloyd will be hoping for a similar reception for his solo album “Seeing Double” when it is released on October 6th.
The guitarist has been hard at work preparing his debut solo effort, which will be preceded by a limited edition single “Suzee” on September 29th. The single will only be released on seven inch vinyl, making it an instant collector’s item.
The album was cut as live as possible, with very little studio work done to preserve the impact of the initial idea. While not a well known singer by any means, Duncan Lloyd has an affective voice, and his decision not to indulge in any studio trickery has leant his vocal duties a lo-fi, old school indie charm.
Available from October 6th, the album will also be released in a very limited edition 2-CD format containing exclusive acoustic versions of some tracks. This extended cut will be available to order from today, online at Record Store.
The tracklisting of the regular version is as follows:
1. 7 Letters
2. Make Our Escape
3. Suzee
4. NightFly
5. Misfit
6. Victory and Surrender
7. You Are Partly To Blame
8. Seeing Double
9. 3 Times Over
10. Another Chance
