maxime. Hits Some Strikingly Personal Notes On ‘hiccups (as an adult)’

It's a bold offering from the Canadian musician...

Canadian riser maxime. has shared his new single 'hiccups (as an adult)'.

The Ottawa based songwriter impressed with the release of his debut EP, the striking pop flavours of 'Toothpaste & Orange Juice'.

His debut album lands on December 6th, with 'whatevernowiscalled' presenting a window into his evocative pop imagination.

New single 'hiccups (as an adult)' is out now, a strikingly personal return, with wisps of synthetic sound billowing past his evocative vocal.

The lyrics cut a little deeper, with maxime. aiming to present something unique but in a universal, relatable way.

He explains…

"The lyrics are pretty personal to me, but I tried to write them in a more general way. The general idea is about jumping the gun, and having doubts and regrets."

"I write a lot of songs when I am just feeling down and this was definitely one of them haha. As to how the title is linked to the song itself, I made some really dumb mistakes and felt like a child, that was the context for writing it."
