Soul and gospel legend has announced a series of live dates in the UK for April.
As part of family group The Staples Singers, Mavis Staples helped soundtrack the US Civil Rights Movement, her beautiful voice moving effortlessly between the golden harmonies of her family.
Still a wonderful live performer, Mavis Staples is also still creating acclaimed music. Upcoming Ry Cooder collaboration “We’ll Never Turn Back” is a blast from another era, when rhythm met blues and saint met sinner.
