Scottish songwriter Matthew Hall continues to impress on new single ‘Only October’.
The Glasgow born artist relocated to Edinburgh to study music, before the pandemic intervened. Left with time on his hands, Matthew Hall started uploading clips to TikTok, quickly becoming a viral phenomenon.
Out now, ‘Only October’ is only his second ever single, and it’s a fine slice of indie-folk that belies his tender age. Only 21 years old, he conjures a fine vision of emotive introspection, working alongside Benjamin Francis Leftwich in the studio.
He says…
‘Only October’ was written at a time where I felt very lost. I was constantly writing songs and seemed to have no direction or momentum with my career. It was about the fear of something being over before I even had the chance to enjoy it and worrying that I had wasted it.
