Matthew Dear Confirms New Album

'Beams' due on August 27th

Matthew Dear is set to release his new album ‘Beams’ through Ghostly International on August 27th.

Matthew Dear is shifting, evolving. Now working with a full band set up, the producer breezed into London last month and appeared to be the heir apparent to the LCD-vacated throne of dark electronics.

Now the producer has completed work on a new album. ‘Beams’ will drop on August 27th, with Matthew Dear seemingly sharing more and revealing less about himself than ever before.

“I’m about 4 to 5 different people at any given time,” he said in a press statement. “By allowing all of those different personalities to exist… the most pure and direct self can come through in the music. (The songs) may still be cryptic, and full of contradictions—but in my opinion, that is pure, unadulterated thought in musical form. They are direct lines to the center.”
