Matt Helders Comp – Latest

Release Date Moved, Interview

Matt Helders, the drummer from Arctic Monkeys, is the latest musician to reveal his midnight spins and curate a “Late Night Tales” compilation.

Matt Helders is a founder member of the band, and has frequently DJ’d under his own name – notably at the Barcelona installment of the infamous Clash Club!

“Late Night Tales” is a compilation series that allows musicians to reveal their favourite tracks to chill out to around the midnight hour. Helder’s selection contains a varied mix moving from classic rock to indie, electro, soul and many more. It will also contain an exclusive cover of the club classic “Dreamer” by Living Joy, recorded by Helders with producer Joe Orton and singer Nesreen Shah.

In addition to this, the mix can also boast a short story written and read by none other than chief Monkey Alex Turner. Called ‘A Choice Of Three’ it begins thus…

“In the tunnel I noticed I had a choice of three. While I thought it very kind of them to offer me this I do wonder if they realised what a dilemma they were sending to face me. The trouble was if I looked at your reflection in the left window I missed the actual image of you and your reflection in the right, and if I looked at the right I had the same problem the other way around.”

Matt Helders “Late Night Tales” is set for release on October 27th. To watch an interview with Matt Helders just click one of the streams below:
