Matmos Announce UK Tour

Electronic Duo Prepare To Blow Minds

American electronic boffins Matmos are set to tour the UK after announcing a series of live dates for June, ahead of the release of new album “Supreme Balloon”.

The band have much in common with early Krautrock groups such as Can or Neu!, Matmos have an improvisational take on electronic music. “Supreme Balloon” was recorded entirely with synthesisers, after the band amassed a phenomenal collection of antique gadgets. Matmos have previously collaborated with Bjork, the results appearing on the albums “Vespertine” and “Medulla”.

The San Francisco based group are steeped in academia, with Drew Daniel working briefly as an Assistant Professor of English at John Hopkins University. While the band are over here they will be working as artists-in-residence at St. John’s College, Oxford University.

Matmos will release “Supreme Balloon” on May 12th. The band will play the following tour dates:

June 6th – Venn Festival, Bristol
June 8th – Beaconfield Gallery, London
June 9th – Beaconfield Gallery, London
June 12th – Future Days Festival, Dublin
