Mathilda Homer Charms With New Single ‘Dear Life’

It's a bittersweet return from the newcomer...

Soulful pop newcomer Mathilda Homer has shared new single 'Dear Life'.

With a flurry of single releases the UK artist has sketched out a vivid identity, matching neo-soul to future-facing pop via jazz.

There's a fondness for classic songwriting there, too, and it comes through loud and clear on her new single.

'Dear Life' is a finely honed piece of music, with each lyric tucked up neatly amid the bittersweet arrangement.

Driven forward by Mathilda's confident vocal, 'Dear Life' is about mistakes, regrets, and love.

"Sometimes love has a funny way of showing itself. Sometimes you can love the idea of being in love even though it just isn’t right,” she explains.

“Sometimes you can feel unheard and like a ghost. In the past, I’ve loved the idea of a relationship but not loved the one I’m in. So I wrote a song about it.”
