Mary Middlefield introduces herself with beautiful new single ‘Band-Aid’.
The classically trained musician spent 15 years studying the violin, advancing her knowledge and dipping into technical excellence. As her academic career progressed, Mary’s abilities took her away from the sleepy Swiss town she grew up in, eventually settling in London.
As the pandemic rolled through our lives, we all faced changes. Under lockdown, Mary Middlefield began sculpting songs of her own – curiously unique vignettes, discussing aspects of her life in a frank, honest, and empathetic manner.
We can hear aspects of Matila Mann and Delilah Montagu in her work, alongside the influence of Lana Del Rey, say. New single ‘Band-Aid’ is an introductory moment, discussing relationships, emotional damage, and the role music plays in its own.
Simple yet enormously endearing, ‘Band-Aid’ finds this young Swiss songwriter moving with incredible confidence.
Tune in now.
