Mary Lattimore Announces New Album ‘Goodbye, Hotel Arkada’

It's out on October 6th...

Harpist Mary Lattimore has laid out plans for new album ‘Goodbye, Hotel Arkada’.

The musician has a wonderful touch on her instrument, blending left-field and ambient aspects into her approach. Building a singular catalogue, Mary Lattimore has been sought out by like minds in parallel fields, infusing her work with special elements.

New album ‘Goodbye, Hotel Arkada’ is both personal, and collaborative; out on October 6th via Ghostly International, it features six lengthy songs, while guests include The Cure’s Lol Tolhurst, Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, and more.

The title refers to a hotel in Hvar, Croatia, one that faced extensive renovation; it’s more than this, though, with Mary Lattimore using it as a lens to focus her thoughts of loss, and the passing of time.

She comments…

When I think of these songs, I think about fading flowers in vases, melted candles, getting older, being on tour and having things change while you’re away, not realizing how ephemeral experiences are until they don’t happen anymore, fear for a planet we’re losing because of greed, an ode to art and music that’s really shaped your life that can transport you back in time, longing to maintain sensitivity and to not sink into hollow despondency.”

New song ‘And Then He Wrapped His Wings Around Me’ is online now, Mary Lattimore’s approach blending with contributions from Meg Baird and Walt McClements.

Tune in now.
