Martha Wainwright Announces New Album

'Come Home To Mama' due on October 15th

Martha Wainwright is set to release her new album ‘Come Home To Mama’ on October 15th.

The Wainwrights are a musical dynasty. Shifting back into action, son Rufus released a new album earlier this year while father Loudon Wainwright III is also working on fresh material.

Now Martha Wainwright is set to re-enter the fray. New album ‘Come Home To Mama’ will be released on October 15th and seemingly finds the songwriter dealing with some very intense moments in her personal life.

The singer’s mother Kate McGarrigle passed away last year, and the material seems to reflect a love for her family. “This record is a culmination of my life experiences so far. Everything changed for me a couple years ago and this record is a representation of that and a return to the reason I started writing songs,” she said recently. “I can’t wait to hit the road with my family and new band in tow.”

Recorded a Sean Lennon’s studio in New York, Yuka C. Honda was on hand to oversee proceedings. “Making this record was a totally different experience,” she explained.

“Yuka’s approach was very open. Sometimes I would just demo the song, singing in the closet which served as the vocal booth, then she would build the track around that. In other instances we would jam with a few musicians and try to get a live take”.

‘Come Home To Mama’ is set to be released on October 15th. Tracklisting:

‘I Am Sorry’
‘Can You Believe It’
‘Radio Star’
‘Proserpina’
‘Leave Behind’
