Pinch and Optimo’s JD Twitch have remixed Mark Stewart’s new single ‘Autonomia’.
Mark Stewart retains a certain allure. A hero to fans of the post-punk era, the frontman has never diluted his principles, never given up on his singular approach to making music.
Hooking up with Primal Scream to record new single ‘Autonomia’, the incendiary frontman was pushed all the way by Bobby Gillespie. Dense agit-prop, the track questions the death of Carlo Giuliani, an autonomist protestor killed during the 2001 G8 demonstrations in Genoa.
Commissioning a number of remixes, Mark Stewart handed the stems for ‘Autonomia’ over to bass heavyweight Pinch and Optimo legend JD Twitch.
Pinch pushes ‘Autonomia’ into dark, deranged dub passages not too dis-similar to fellow Bristol linked producer Shackleton. JD Twitch, meanwhile, grabs hold of the tracks Industrial elements to craft some uniquely dark Acid beats.
