Mark Ronson Works With Michael Jackson

Producer handed vocal take

Mark Ronson has revealed that he has contributed a track to Michael Jackson’s ‘new’ album.

More than 12 months after his tragically early death, Michael Jackson remains an icon. The singer is continuing to release ‘new’ material, with new album ‘Michael’ set to be issued later this year.

Containing a raft of unreleased material, some have suggested that the vocal takes are fake. The Michael Jackson Estate has insisted that all recordings are genuine, with Mark Ronson leaping to their defence.

The silver quiffed producer was invited to take part in proceedings, and proceeded to work on a backing to a vocal take from the singer. Speaking to The Daily Star, Mark Ronson insisted that the recording he was given is by the iconic ‘Thriller’ star.

“It was definitely him singing. I was given a vocal track to work with but I never actually met Michael,” he explained.

Continuing, Mark Ronson explained that the resulting song is a ballad. “It’s in the vein of Elton John’s ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ and John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’,” he suggested.

‘Michael’ is set to be released on December 14th, prompting a flurry of bets on a possible Christmas number one. Certain to be an enormously popular release, the news comes as Michael Jackson is named the top earning deceased celebrity of 2010 by Forbes magazine.

The singer is set to remain in the spotlight. Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video could be turned into a full length feature film, while the run of ‘new’ material is set to continue until the vaults are exhausted.

As a special preview, new track ‘Breaking News’ is set to premiere on Michael Jackson’s website later today (November 8th). Streaming for one week, the track is due to appear on ‘Michael’.
