Mark Ronson looks set to be heading to number one with his new album ‘Record Collection’.
The transformation seems complete. Mark Ronson’s image as a purveyor of slick retro vibes has been shattered with his new project The Business Intl, inviting collaborators on board for a deeply eclectic group.
Indie stars from The View, The Zutons and more join forces with hip hop stars to produce ‘Record Collection’. A varied listen, it has moved Mark Ronson away from the horn laden approach of ‘Versions’.
The album has proved to be a huge success, with Mark Ronson receiving warm reviews. Fans have flocked to the collaborative effort, with ‘Record Collection’ on course to top the British album charts.
Outselling their nearest rivals, The Business Intl look set to claim the number one slot. However all that could change before Sunday (October 3rd) when the official chart is announced.
Elsewhere, the Official Chart Company have confirmed a host of re-issues on the singles chart. ‘The X Factor’ has opened up again, with the usual round of memorable performances having an effect on sales.
Oasis are set to hit the Top 40 with their classic single ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ while Adele’s ‘Make You Feel Alive’ is at number four.
Somewhat bizarrely, an ‘X Factor’ led sales push has sent Radiohead’s single ‘Creep’ back into the Top 40. An ode to self-hatred and alienation the track seems to have become a hit on the talent show.
‘What the hell am I doing here?” asked Thom Yorke, ‘I don’t belong here’.
Well, quite.
Watch out for the countdown from the official Chart Company this Sunday (October 2nd).
