Mark McGuire has decided to leave Emeralds with the American outfit set to continue as a duo.
A bastion of left field music in North America, Emeralds emerged from a two year slumber late last year. Delivering a typically probing studio album, 'Just To Feel Anything' won widespread critical acclaim and gained attention in corners of the music industry normally shut off from such avant garde endeavours.
However it seems that the trio's proliferation of solo projects has led them in differing artistic directions. Mark McGuire has confirmed that he is set to leave Emeralds, but will continue making music under different banners.
Emeralds’ Steve Hauschildt confirmed the news on Twitter: “It is with much regret that I announce Mark McGuire is no longer a member of Emeralds. We wish him only the best of luck.”
Continuing, Hauschildt added: "Emeralds will continue on as a duo consisting of myself and John [Elliott]. Thank you so much for your continued support over the last seven years."
Elsewhere on Twitter, Steve Hauschildt revealed that Emeralds are working on a full headline tour in 2013 which will include shows and North America, Australia and Europe. More on that when it's announced!
