Newcomers Marina And The Diamonds are to release their new single ‘I Am Not A Robot’ on April 26th.
Marina Diamandis has always wanted to make music. Her untrained voice leaps from note to note, with the carefree style of someone who simply doesn’t know any better.
Where some preened pop talent would fear to tread, Marina And The Diamonds go trampling along unexplored musical territory. One of the year’s most outlandish newcomers, the group have confirmed details of a new single.
‘I Am Not A Robot’ is already a favourite with fans, becoming a firm fixture of the Marina And The Diamonds live set. Released as part of an EP last year, the band teamed up with acclaimed photographer and film maker for the video.
A stunning clip, it pushed Marina And The Diamonds into the public eye. With their debut album ‘The Family Jewels’ reaching the Top Five the band have decided to issue a new single on the eve of their British tour.
The new single will be released on April 26th, alongside remixes ably provided by the likes of LA afro-beat / world music act Fool’s Gold as well as sprawling New England indie collective Passion Pit.
“I’ve decided to release ‘I am Not A Robot’ as my next single, as people seem to empathize and relate with the song, regardless of gender or age” said the singer in a statement.
Marina And The Diamonds are set to head out to SXSW shortly, to begin the Welsh singer’s assault on the United States. Returning to the UK in May, the band’s upcoming is already sold out.
