New album from metal icon

Parents of the world, lock up your sons and daughters – Marilyn Manson is back.

Born plain Brian Warner the musician has been a music journalist, the scourge of Middle America and, for a brief period, a woman. Showing a fondness for playing with his image at one point Marilyn Manson even grew himself a pair of breasts – that’s devotion for you!

Taking the industrial sound of Nine Inch Nails and adding some synth-pop filth to the mix, Marilyn Manson is one of the best selling artists in modern American rock music. However his frequently dark subject matter has made him a bete noire for some aspects of American society.

If anything, though, this notoriety has aided Manson. An erudite and intelligent man in interviews, he is capable is justifying his music and stagecraft to even the most devoted critic. Recently Manson has become interested in pursuing his acting career, with his last album ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’ being released in 2007.

Now it seems that music is back on the agenda with forthcoming album ‘The High End Of Low’. Produced by Sean Beavan, much of the material was written after the controversial ‘Rape The World’ tour.

The album is set to be preceded by subtly titled single ‘Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon’ which is due be released on April 19th. Amongst the cheery ditties on ‘The High End Of Low’ are ‘Pretty As A Swastika’ and ‘I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies’.

Marilyn Manson is due to release his new album ‘The High End Of Low’ on May 25th.
