Mariachi El Bronx have marked the launch of their new UK tour with a Roy Orbison tour.
Beginning life as a one off acoustic project, Mariachi El Bronx saw a gang of LA punks take on an unexpected guise. Returning for a second instalment this summer, the band are preparing to hit the live trail for a series of British dates.
Matching punk energy with the emotive side of mariachi, the band are a fantastic live act. Mariachi El Bronx have decided to tackle a Roy Orbison classic to mark the beginning of the tour, with ‘Only The Lonely’ getting re-worked.
Originally a showcase for Orbison’s warm, tenor voice Mariachi El Bronx turn ‘Only The Lonely’ into a frenetic Mexican workout. Grab the track below…

Joined by close friends and comrades, the mariachi troupe are set to launch a tour of the UK and Ireland tonight (November 18th). Opening with two Irish dates, the band are set to hit the mainland for a show in Edinburgh on November 20th.
Mariachi El Bronx will follow this with shows in Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester and more as they travel across the country.
Hitting London on December 17th, the group will play a headline show at King’s College. Finishing the tour in Wolverhampton, Mariachi El Bronx will say ‘adios!’ to British audiences for another year.
