French born singer and activist Manu Chao is set to release a new video titled “Politik Kills” – featuring children who are veterans of the conflict in Liberia.
Shot on location in Monrovia, Liberia in 2004, the film takes place just one year after the end of a civil war. Award winning French film maker Jean-Stephane Sauvaire led the crew on a journey around the African nation, studying the impact of the war.
Following one former child soldier in particular, “Politik Kills” also used a small staff mainly comprised of Liberian veterans of the war. The film follows ex-soldier Christian for two days as he carries a ghetto blaster around the capital city of Monrovia, focussing on his experiences in the new, peaceful city.
