Brooklyn creative force Malik English has shared his new single ‘Muse’.
The punchy new single illuminates his creativity, a neat, sub-two minute dose of future-facing, soulful pop. A melodic excursion, ‘Muse’ bolts out of the traps, packed with energy and summer-laden vibrations.
The songwriter has enjoyed a stellar 18 months, performing at SXSW, the historic Apollo venue, and more, as well as being featured in Beyonce’s Black Is King.
With deep links to his Trinidadian/Nigerian/Canadian heritage, Malik English is forging an individual path. He comments…
“The record is about processing a failed relationship through vices. Whether that’s drugs, sex, or money and trying to find beauty in these things. A lot of the times my lowest points become the muse for my work. I’m showing what going through these iniquities to hold on to a sense of self looks like. I also wanted ‘Muse’ to be my ode to NYC, mixing my love for R&B music with Brooklyn Drill energy to make something refreshing & fun for the city.”
