Male Bonding Tackle Nirvana

On split single with EMA

Male Bonding and EMA are set to share a split seven inch single inspired by Nirvana.

20 years after its release, ‘Nevermind’ has cast a long shadow over contemporary music. Groups such as Yuck, The History Of Apple Pie and more prove that early 90s alt rock remains a rich seam of inspiration.

Now Male Bonding are set to doff their caps to the legacy of Nirvana. The London trio returned with their second album earlier this year, spending the bulk of 2011 on the road. Along the way the band have hooked up with EMA, and the two groups have obviously bonded over ‘Nevermind’ listening sessions.

Agreeing to release a split seven inch, Male Bonding and EMA will trade Nirvana covers. The London outfit are set to cover ‘Aneurysm’ – the flipside of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ later released on ‘Incesticide’.

EMA meanwhile have decided to tackle ‘Endless Nameless’ – the secret track from ‘Nevermind’. The cover was previously released on Spin Magazine’s ‘Newermind’ comp, which saw contemporary artists re-work the classic album.
