Makaya McCraven To Re-Imagine Gil Scott-Heron’s ‘I’m New Here’

Full length project confirmed...

Makaya McCraven is set to re-imagine Gil Scott-Heron's final studio album 'I'm New Here'.

The original album was released in 2010, a stark piece of post-industrial blues that boasted production from XL founder Richard Russell.

Jamie xx released an acclaimed remix album, with Gil Scott-Heron sadly passing away in 2011.

Powerhouse drummer and band-leader Makaya McCraven is a fan of the record, and has decided to re-work it in full.

Re-tooled as 'We’re New Again – A Reimagining by Makaya McCraven', the record lands on February 7th.

You can order it HERE, with Makaya placing fantastic recording 'Where Did The Night Go' online.
