Diplo took time out to chat with Zane Lowe on Beats1 about the new EP. He had this to say about working with Travis Scott on 'Know No Better'...
"You know, Travis, I met many years ago just as a producer. I met him when he was doing stuff with 2 Chainz in the studio, he was at NightBird in LA and I was like who’s this kid? We did a record on Major Lazer before called ‘Riders’, that we did with Mad Cobra actually. I had written the record with Starrah and I was like, this is perfect for Travis, we gotta get him to do it. I thought it was weird because it’s a house record, but he was like yo this is fire, I love it. So I love that he’s the kind of artist that does that. He’s the artist that can pick up anything and be like ‘yo, I can connect with this record’. And I love that he’s open minded to that."
"So we hit him up and honestly, tracking him down though… He became really popular the last six months - year, but I knew where he was sleeping so I went to his house and woke him up many times to finish this record. I dragged him up off the couch and he’s good. The thing about Travis, he could engineer himself, so he’s like half asleep and he’s tracking and once then once the song starts happening, he’s over and over gain. Three hours later we’ve got the whole verse done. I love him for it. He’s patient. He would let me bang on his door until the record got done."
