Rising UK newcomer Mahalia has shared storming new single 'Hold On'.
The singer has been on our radar for some time, with her prodigious age belying the power of her songwriting.
New cut 'Hold On' was crafted in the studio with Jay Prince and Drake cohort Nana Rogues, fusing a UK-centric R&B sound with tropical-tinged pop elements.
The dank, low-down groove allows Mahalia plenty of space to express her vocal, while a guest verse from Buddy adds a male perspective.
She explains: "'Hold On' was a tune that needed to come out of me for a long time and it finally did when I stumbled upon an old flame of mine in my home town. It's a long story so I won't go into it… however, I originally wrote 'Hold On' in the studio with Jay Prince."
"I then had a little session with Buddy during his recent trip to London and he came at me with the geeza's perspective…! Have a listen – hope you enjoy."
Tune in now.
Catch Mahalia at London's Hoxton Bar & Grill on November 15th.
