Post Punk Legends Return

Post punk legends Magazine have announced plans to reform for just two concerts in early 2009.

The band were led by founding member of the Buzzcocks and all round musical legend Howard Devoto. A pivotal figure in the Manchester punk scene, Devoto's belief in the indie aesthetic led to the release of Buzzcocks' "Spiral Scratch" which heldep inspired a wave of independent labels.

Magazine were formed in 1977 and became one of the pre-eminent post punk groups. Debut single "Shot by Both Sides" established the band as major players, and this was followed by the rapturously received "Real Life" album. This was followed by three further albums before the band collapsed in 1981.

Now revered as a pivotal group in the history of UK music, Magazine's reformation allows for a great chance to witness this legendary band in the live setting. The band last played together onstage in 1980, and the reformed line up will include Howard Devoto, Dave Formula, Barry Adamson and John Doyle.

Magazine will play the following live dates:

February 13th - The Forum, London
February 14th - The Academy, Manchester
