Madonna Greatest Hits Due

'Material Girl' to release new single

Queen of Pop Madonna is due to stun fans with a new ‘Greatest Hits’ compilation and a new single.

Madonna may be in her fifties, but the singer shows no sign of stopping. From her beginnings as a fun loving New York girl entering the music industry, Madonna has redefined the role of a woman in pop culture.

Operating on her own terms, Madonna is still breaking records. Last year’s tour ‘Sticky And Sweet’ followed her new album ‘Hard Candy’ and was one of her most lavish to date.

Taking in virtually every country known to pop, Madonna’s tour became the best selling jaunt by a solo artist in history. The singer announced a series of dates earlier this year that form the second leg of the tour, with Madonna currently completing a number of European dates.

However tragedy struck at a recent French show, with the roof collapsing on workers preparing the stage at a Marseilles stadium. Madonna offered her condolences to the families of those affected, with two workers dying of their injuries.

With an inquest being launched into the incident Madonna has continued with her tour, giving an emotional performance in Italy.

The singer is due to release a new single and compilation over the summer – both titled ‘Celebration’.

Madonna has not released original material since last year’s ‘Hard Candy’ but the singer is set to return with a new single this summer. ‘Celebration’ is one of two new songs that will feature on the forthcoming compilation, set to be released on September 28th.

The tracklisting was chosen by Madonna herself with input from a fan’s poll on her website. Songs confirmed for inclusion are ‘Everybody’, ‘4 Minutes’, ‘Express Yourself’ and ‘Vogue’. The album will be available as a single CD and as a two-disc version with a bonus DVD.

The DVD will feature videos from throughout Madonna’s career, with the film featuring never seen before footage.

Madonna is due to release her new single ‘Celebration’ on August 3rd. The track was produced by Paul Oakenfold, who is providing support on the ‘Sticky And Sweet’ tour.
