Fly Anakin’s single ‘No Dough’ receives the Madlib treatment on a bold new remix.
The Virginia artist is one of the year’s breakout rappers, his album ‘Frank’ standing as one of 2022’s most superlative-inducing full lengths. New project ‘Lex XX’ toasts 20 years of the stellar London imprint Lex Records, and it features a flurry of previously unreleased remixes.
Madlib is an outspoken fan of Fly Anakin, and he steps in to remix the rapper’s recent single ‘No Dough’. The results are pure undiluted Madlib, with the Beat Conducta rummaging through the crates for some deft funky moves.
Spinning the song in a different direction, he seems to pick out new elements of Fly Anakin’s artistry, utilising the depth of his flows to build something potent and new.
