M83 For Depeche Tour

French group announce dates

French electronic group M83 are set to play a series of massive dates as the main support on the upcoming Depeche Mode tour.

Led by Anthony Gonzalez, M83 have well and truly entered the mainstream. Last year’s album ‘Saturdays=Youth’ was a huge success, easily outselling the band’s previous efforts to become their best known work.

However the group’s main success was on the live front. Their spectacular live show has seen M83 hand picked as tour support on massive jaunts with The Killers and Kings Of Leon. The French group travelled across the United States with Kings Of Leon, picking up a few fans along the way.

Recently M83 played perhaps their most unusual gig to date. Performing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the French electronic outfit merged their material within a classical setting in a performance that has been widely hailed by critics.

Never ones to rest on their laurels, M83 have been added to the new tour by Depeche Mode. Fresh from a massive North American jaunt, the Basildon synth pop gurus are set to tour Europe and have taken the French group along for the ride.

To coincide with the dates M83 have announced details of their new single ‘Graveyard Girl’. Taken from ‘Saturdays=Youth’ the single is a refreshing blast of synth-pop demonstrating all that is best about the album.

M83 are due to release new single ‘Graveyard Girl’ on May 11th. The band have scheduled the following tour dates:

May
6 Bristol The Fleece
7 Manchester Deaf Institute
8 Minehead ATP: The Fans Strike Back
30 London O2 Arena (Depeche Mode support)
