M.I.A. is continuing to drop hints about a new album, revealing that it could drop as soon as December.
It’s been a period of adjustment for M.I.A. The singer’s third album ‘MAYA’ was met by critical disdain, and forced the singer to re-evaluate where she was going.
Taking time off, the New York based artist returned with a back to basics new track and a fresh label. Working on album #4, M.I.A. recently invited fans to ask her questions via Twitter about its progress.
Speaking to one fan, the singer said: “its still in the making -could be 5 it could be 15 depends on what sounds good in my bros CAR.”
Alongside this, M.I.A. is rumoured to be working on a lengthy hardback book. News emerged via Hypebeast earlier this year, who reported that M.I.A. is close to completing a 192 page book. Seemingly an “autobiographical monograph in collages” the book will present over 300 photographs and “several unpublished testimonies from Maya herself.”
Speaking on Twitter, M.I.A. set out a timescale for her material: “MIA > BOOK, LP, DOCUMENTRY, AND ART EXHIBITION IN DEC ! Thank you for questions xxxo”.
