World-pop superstar MIA is finally set to release her underground anthem “Paper Planes” as a UK single on October 13th, it has been announced.
Taken from the singer’s brilliant second album “Kala”, the track has been a club favourite on both sides of the Atlantic since it was released. “Kala” was a huge critical success, garnering album of the year awards by the armful as MIA’s potent blend of world music styles with a pop edge snatched ears across the globe.
Currently being used in the trailer for the new Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg film Pineapple Express, “Paper Planes” is set to explode into the UK charts, fresh from storming the upper echelons of the Billboard Top 100 in the US.
Featuring a nifty sample of The Clash, “Paper Planes” is one of the best singles to be released this year – don’t miss out.
