Love Remain Announces New ‘Is What It Is’ EP

The title track is online now...

Love Remain has laid out plans for his new ‘Is What It Is’ EP.

The reclusive producer and DJ holds down a headline show at London’s Corsica Studios tomorrow night – November 29th – and he’s about to detail his next step.

New EP ‘Is What It Is’ lands on February 9th, with Black Butter hosting the release. Dipping into his South London roots, the music reference points lean towards the deeper end of house, and the more R&B engaged aspects of UKG.

Forever in love with those soulful vocals, this new four-tracker aims to overhaul those influences by injecting something fresh. Out now, the title track loops that central phrase – “it just is what it is” – until the meaning blurs, moving between a statement of fact to something more revealing.

The clipped snares and sprung beats point to UKG, but the frosted feel recalls some of the post-dubstep work of Midland, say. In a note, Love Remain says…

“For me this properly represents everyday life, I hear people say this every day and now it has subconsciously embedded itself into my language. It says so much yet with so little, so It just made sense to turn that into a song.”

Tune in now.
