Love L.U.V. are all retro thrills with a modern attitude, a glitter explosion in a shop packed with vintage clothing.
50s melodies with savage 2k17 riffs, Love L.U.V. have been terrorising London's subterranean venues for some time now.
A string of one-off 45s have followed, with the band settling down in the studio long enough to sculpt their debut album 'You and Me, Babe'.
Recorded at Hackney’s Buffalo Studios, the record drops later this year. First, though, the band are able to unveil new cut 'I Got A Letter', a crisp, explosive three minute gem.
Love L.U.V. singer Lucy D. explains:
"I wrote 'I Got A Letter' in a hotel room in Thailand. I was travelling for three months and my friends had very sweetly written me all these letters to open up at a certain time or when I was feeling a certain emotion. One of them said, “Read me when you’re feeling loved up” and it got me thinking about the expectations and pressures of romance and whether that ‘perfect’ gushy moment can really exist."
"The song is about putting all that aside and asking “is it you and me? Are we in this together?” I was also a bit drunk and had been listening to a playlist on this rooftop because I was missing hearing rock ‘n’ roll at a live volume! Haha. When I got back to the room, it sort of started writing itself so I recorded it on my phone and brought it to the band’s first rehearsal when I was back. It’s been one of my favourites ever since."
Tune in now.
