Today, South London artist and Elevation Meditation member Louis Culture announces a new EP, ‘I Can’t Wait To See U Again’, out April 5th.
With the announce comes new single ‘Anyway’, which follows previous release ‘Mannequin’. Co-produced with Jim Reed, following past collaborations on ‘Cheer Me Up’, ‘Naked’ and ‘NITM’, and featuring singer Asha Lorenz from North London band Sorry, Louis explores the spectre of a past flame, and the complex detachment issues that transpire in the wake of that person’s absence.
Both tracks appear on the EP alongside ‘Times Square’, a collaboration with Elijah Waters and Alex Cosmo Blake; ‘Don’t You Give Up On Love’, which sees Louis channel the maverick spirits of Prince, D’Angelo and Jai Paul; ‘Franklin’, a folky torch song and EP closer, ‘Hide Your Pills’.
The EP is a “a meditation on duality, with Louis inviting his listeners to contemplate the longing for a person you’re no longer with, accepting and adjusting to the change of not having them around, but also longing to return to being the person you yourself once were…”
Louis will embark upon a headline European tour this April, which includes a performance at London’s Village Underground on April 18th. Get your tickets here.
