The new Oasis compilation will include ‘Sunday Morning Call’ despite the single not appearing on the tracklisting.
The new Oasis singles collection ‘Time Flies’ is a worthy trip down memory lane. Sure, every fan worth their salt probably has each track on more than one format, but with the sun coming out there probably isn’t a better soundtrack.
However fans immediately cried foul over the completeness of ‘Time Flies’. The singles collection omits ‘Sunday Morning Call’ which was released in 2000.
The album contains every other Oasis single since their debut ‘Supersonic’, although it now seems as though ‘Sunday Morning Call’ will be given a reprieve.
On promotional copies of ‘Time Flies’ the singer features as a secret track at the end of the second disc of the compilation. The track follows on from the final Oasis single ‘Falling Down’ which completes the collection.
The Noel Gallagher sung track was written as the band began crumbling. In the space of just one year Oasis lost their record label, while Guigsy and Bonehead walked out of the band.
Reduced to just Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher and Alan White the band crafted ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ – a downbeat album which nonetheless has a special place in the hearts of fans.
‘Sunday Morning Call’ entered the British charts at number four on its release in July 2000. ‘Time Flies’ contains all of the band’s singles, including the previously unavailable ‘Whatever’ from 1994.
Oasis are set to release ‘Time Flies’ on June 14th.
