Welsh twee-folk wonders Los Campesinos! have unveiled their new member alongside news of a forthcoming single.
Los Campesinos! formed at university, and within ten gigs had secured a record deal. However these aren’t flash in the pan indie hipsters – Los Campesinos! match a low attention span with a high work rate.
Close to completing their second album, the band have also released the album in all but name collecting ‘We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed’. However Los Campesinos! were sad to discover recently that they will be losing a member.
Aleks Campesinos! decided that she wished to return to her studies, despite the love and enjoyment she has found with the band. Obviously disappointed, Los Campesinos! has paid her a fond farewell, whilst also unveiling a new member.
In a short ceremony at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff the group announced their new member to be none other than Kim Campesinos!. The musician will make her debut on a forthcoming UK tour.
In addition to this Los Campesinos! have confirmed details of a new single. ‘There Are Listed Buildings’ is taken from their forthcoming John Goodmanson produced album, and will be sold at their upcoming tour.
Available on heavy seven inch vinyl the new single will be available in limited quantities shortly afterwards. Artwork for ‘There Are Listed Buildings’ can be viewed on the band’s official blog.
