Cardiff based twee-pop wonders Los Campesinos! are set to offer fans the chance to win a very special record box on their forthcoming United States tour.
Twee is back. All across the nation musicians are swapping their neon sweat bands for old cardigans and turning their amplifiers down to a more acceptable level.
Way ahead of the curve, Los Campesinos! released their debut album ‘Hold On Now Youngsters’ back in early 2008. Full of energy onstage, the record brimmed with potential yet never quite lived up to expectations.
Continually writing, the band returned only six months later with a new ten track collection. Titled ‘We Are Beautiful We Are Doomed’ Los Campesinos! refused to label the songs as an album, yet they may contain some of their finest work to date.
Returning to the United States to work on their new album proper, the band recruited John Goodmanson to produce their new material. Los Campesinos! are due to release their new material at the end of the summer, but were recently dealt a blow when Aleks Campesinos! left the group.
Obviously disappointed, the group are set to soldier on with a new member. Due to be unveiled on their forthcoming British tour, the band are set to make Aleks Campesinos! final dates even more memorable with a special competition.
The band have bought a record box, which they will place things into as / when they remember. A unique memento of the tour, the box is set to contain a number of rare artefacts from Los Campesinos! and some of their friends.
