Loretta Lynn has revealed that she has been diagnosed with the early stages of pneumonia.
A country icon, Loretta Lynn has not lost her hard work ethic. Jack White helped to re-launch her career with 2004’s ‘Van Leer Rose’ matching her cracked, ageing vocals to sympathetic production.
Last year, the singer was the subject of a tribute album with ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter: A Tribute To Loretta Lynn’ starring Paramore, The White Stripes and more.
Touring continuously, a series of cancellations recently caused rumours of ill health to circulate amongst fans. Issuing a statement, Loretta Lynn revealed that she was suffering from the beginning stages of pneumonia

Loretta regretfully must cancel her shows for Ashland Ky, and Durahm, NC for this weekend, due to illness. Doctors have diagnosed her as the beginning stages pneumonia, and will continue to need rest. Loretta is doing well and is disappointed but feels confident she will be ready for upcoming November dates.

Planning to head out on the road next month, Loretta Lynn will take a well deserved rest. The American singer has been busy throughout 2011, undergoing minor knee surgery in the summer.
Elsewhere, the country singer has been nominated for the CMA Awards for her work on ‘The Coal Miner’s Daughter’ – the 39th nomination of her career.
