Lorde has pulled out of this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
The show takes place on September 12th, and Lorde was initially billed to perform.
New album 'Solar Power' is out now, and the title track is nominated for Best Cinematography at the VMAs; shot by Andrew Stroud, it's a large scale dance piece set on a sun-drenched beach.
In a note to fans, MTV confirmed that Lorde could no longer perform due to "a change in production elements…"
