London talent LOLA has shared new single ‘Back’.
The future-R&B aesthete caused a stir with her debut EP ‘The Sleeping Prophet’, then seemed to slink back into the shadows. Two years passed, but the music refused to dissipate – now she’s back, with something new, and extremely tantalising.
Out now, new single ‘Back’ is a perfectly pitched return, with exquisite production from IGLOOGHOST. The soulful vocal interweaves around the glitchy electronics, while the faint traces of jazz in the song’s DNA reflect the impact of her legendary jazz drummer grandfather Jack Parnell.
An evolutionary step forwards from LOLA, ‘Back’ suggests that something special is lingering on the horizon.
